A Path in the Forest

The South Island of New Zealand is home to some of the world’s most mesmerizing, temperate native beech forests, landscapes that feel entirely untouched by time. In this painting, Tischler strives to capture the quiet enchantment of these ancient ecosystems, where velvety moss clings to monumental trunks and the forest floor is alive with rich, earthy textures. Beneath the towering canopy, a winding path gently unfolds, serving as an open invitation for the viewer to step into the scene and wander among these majestic, giant trees.
