Mystic Milford

Milford Sound is one of New Zealand’s most iconic and dramatic landscapes. It also famously boasts the highest rainfall in the country, meaning a clear, calm day like the one captured here is a rare and lucky sight. Completed in 2025 in Tischler’s Wānaka studio for a Tasmanian collector, this piece presents the legendary fiord with a distinct, atmospheric clarity. While the iconic, soaring peaks of the background remain instantly recognisable, the foreground celebrates the area’s constantly shifting shoreline through careful artistic composition.
